food porn

sorry i don't have any sexy pictures of an organic german chocolate cake that i made from scratch. nope. the cupboards and my wallet are both bare, so its time to come up with creative uses for those staples at the back of the pantry: canned veggies and starches. pictured is a quick and dirty take on rice and beans. white beans and left over rice fried in oil and flavored with a shake of pretty much every spice in the cabinet. if you happen to be drinking a beer, you can deglaze with that. actually, if you have alcohol on hand, it might be wise to pound a few before you eat, so you aren't as acutely aware of the fact that your life is in ruins and you are getting most of your calories from processed, packaged food.

Motivation!

BELIEVE & SUCCEED
Courage Does Not Always Roar, Sometimes, It Is The Quiet Voice At The End Of The Day Saying, "I Will Try Again Tomorrow"

this amazing poster hangs in the hall at Capitol Community College. I am not quite sure what the adwizard who came up with this was thinking. to me, its basically a free pass to procrastinate while feeling courageous about it.

also, stones in shallow water are awesome.

also, inappropriate use of caps gives bonus sucking points.

if your keeping track:
arbor mist island fruits pinot grigio
$8 bottle of prosecco, because we were celebrating
wannabe nalgene, likely leaching cancer into my water
found flask, was filled with whiskey

lief?

while we suck at life, we do not suck at word choice, nor do we suck at spelling. suck at "lief" is obviously an allusion to leif garret, who is a living saint of sucking at life if there ever was one. right?

admitting you have a problem is the first step towards recovery

this is us sucking on sunday and slowly becoming party-sized
